Postgraduate Teaching Programme: A Scientific, Historical and Intercultural Dialogue

The project Postgraduate Teaching Programme: A Scientific, Historical and Intercultural Dialogue was aimed at — at the primary level — designing an internationally competitive, contextually adapted, and culturally aware Postgraduate Teaching Programme (with a Postgraduate Teaching Certificate as the final award). This programme was offered by the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr to graduates with a master’s degree, with the goal of empowering them with the best international teaching practices, adapting their teaching methodology to the post-ISIS and post-conflict context, and promoting the historical, cultural, and artistic heritage of the Kurdistan Region.

The project enhanced local teaching expertise at the tertiary level in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, promoted understanding and improved collaboration between countries and cultures in the field of higher education, and supported the internationalization of local teaching staff as well as the cultural adaptation of international staff to the local context. — At the secondary level, it honoured and drew attention to Kurdish history, art, and culture, and established a foundation for training a patriotic Kurdish elite in the sphere of higher education and beyond.
