In 2018-21, the Nahrein Network funded many small research projects to address a range of urgent questions in Iraq and eastern Turkey. Almost all projects were led by local research teams with budgets in the range £10–£30,000.

In 2018-21, the Nahrein Network funded four large research projects to address a range of urgent questions. All projects were led by mixed international-Iraqi research teams with budgets of up to £100,000.
